Welcome to Broughton High School's SGA website!
The Student Government Association at Broughton High School was established in 1930, and serves the student body through planning and executing events throughout the year.
Broughton's SGA consists of two branches: The Executive Cabinet and the Class Councils. The Executive Cabinet is made up of the four Student Body Officers plus representatives from each class. The Class Councils are made up of representatives from their respective classes. The Student Body Officers are elected to their positions, while an application process selects the Executive Cabinet and Class Council members.
The role of the Executive Cabinet is to plan and execute whole-school events, such as Homecoming Week, Song-A-Grams, Volleybros, Movie Nights, and Walk for Water.
The role of the Class Councils is to plan and execute class-specific events such as the Sadie Hawkins Dance (Sophomores), Prom (Juniors), and Queen of Hearts (Seniors). Class Councils also participate in Homecoming Week by creating skits for the Pep Rally and floats for the Homecoming Parade. Councils are also encouraged to promote class and school spirit.
