HOMECOMING WEEK

September 30-October 4, 2024



Theme: CAPS Got Game!

Seniors: Candyland

Juniors: Chutes & Ladders

Sophomores: Monopoly

​Homecoming courts
Homecoming Queen's Court and King's Court are comprised of eligible seniors. Nominations for Court are September 3rd-5th. Nominations will be through a Google Form. Students will vote during Advisory Class on September 11th. *The Homecoming Queen is not eligible to be the Queen of Hearts in February. 
The Competition
Homecoming week is a competition for points between the grades!
Ways to earn points:
   Dressing up for spirit days
   Attendance or Participation in the Powder Puff Game on Tuesday, 10/1
   Attendance or Participation in CAP Factor--date TBD
   Attendance at the Home Athletic Events during the week
   Food Drive Donations
   Pep Rally Activities
   Tailgate-attendance and physical appearance of the designated area
CLASS DECORATIONS
Come help your grade decorate your class spot for the Homecoming Tailgate!

Check with the class advisors and council members regarding times and locations.
           
FOOD DRIVE
Earn community service and points for your grade by making a donation to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC during Homecoming week, 9/30-10/4! 

Drop off cans in your Advisory Class before school or during Advisory Class! Every 5 cans earn you 1 hour of community service. (Maximum of 5 hours)

Don't want to lug those heavy cans around? Good news!  You can also make a monetary donation to the food drive.  Cash donations actually equate to more meals provided than the cans!  Make your online donation to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina (https://foodbankcenc.org/).  Be sure to click Make my gift on behalf of an organization and then note Broughton High School and your grade level (Class of ) in the provided space.  Every $5 earns 1 hour of community service.  (Maximum of 5 hours)
​SPIRIT DAYS
Dress up for the theme of each day during Homecoming week and earn your grade points! The best outfits will be featured in the yearbook and on the Broughton Student Social Media!

Then, show out in your Homecoming shirt and best purple and gold attire for the football game!

​POWDERPUFF
Who:  Girls at each grade level playing football
            Guys from the BHS Football Team coaching
            BHS Teachers playing the Senior Girls
            Senior Guys Dance Team and Cheerleaders

When: Tuesday, October 1st at 6pm 

Where:  BHS Football Field @ the Jack Spain Stadium

How Much:  Only $5 per ticket.  Get your friends and family to come cheer you on! All proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC and the Foundation of Hope.

Why:  First, to have fun!!  Second, all money taken at the gate will be donated to charity.  1/2 to our Food Drive benefiting the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC and 1/2 to Walk for Hope benefiting the Foundation of Hope for Mental Health Research.

TAILGATE
Get hype for the Homecoming football game by coming to the Homecoming Tailgate!   

Bring friends and family to eat, hang out, and get hyped for the big game! The Homecoming Court will make their entrance about 6:15.

The tailgate will be in front of the Holliday Gym. Details to follow.

When: Friday, October 4th @ 4:00-6:30
Where:  Outside of the BHS Holliday Gym

THE GAME
Come support the CAPS as they take on Enloe!

​Come dressed in your best Purple and Gold. At half time, the Homecoming King's and Queen's Courts will be presented and the Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned.  The winning class of Homecoming will be announced at the end of the game.

When: Friday, October 4th at 7pm...arrive by 6:45 pm to help cheer on the team as they enter through the Student Section and pass the Victory Bell

This year t-shirts will be pre-sale only!  So be sure to pre-order your shirt so you have one for the big game.  Pre-sales for Homecoming Shirts are 9/9-9/18 online. See Ms. Pattisall-Williams in 2402 if you need help.

This year's student designed shirt is a short-sleeved tee with a CAPS Got Game! design featuring all four class board games.
