Walk for Water
Date: TBD...May 2025
Broughton's Walk for Water is an event created by BHS alumna Mackenzie Dion in 2016. This event benefits Global H2O, a nonprofit organization founded by Broughton alumnus James Wilde. Established July 14, 2009, Global H20 builds wells and latrines in Central Africa to improve the overall health of the communities, to reduce the child mortality rates, to improve school attendance, to empower women by putting them in leadership roles, and to enable communities to move to the next stage of development.
Participants walk laps around the BHS track equivalent to the mileage women in African villages must walk to obtain clean water each day. All money raised by this event goes directly to Global H2O and their efforts.
